Writing Prompt - Princess

Writing prompt - Princess She's not full of glitter or glam, but when she walks in the room she'll still take your breath away. She trips and stumbles, grace not being her middle name. But her smile will chase away any darkness. She dances in the rain and sneaks out after dark. To the world, she might just be one girl, but to one person she is the world. (pardon my poor writing, i have a migraine but wanted to at least get something written today.)

Bribe the Writer - Get more stories

So my wife recently realized the most magic thing in the world. I work for treats. Treats can be anything from a dinner out, or as silly as a new pack of Magic the Gathering cards. (Yes I know I'm a nerd.) While recently I have started a new project and am writing some fanfiction to get myself warmed up for my normal writing, she made me a deal, whenever I finish a project I get a treat.

Yesterday I finished my first chapter of fanfiction. She told me go get a pack of cards as inspiration for the next one. So instead, I went to the dollar store and to my surprise they had little resale packs of them. I may or may not have gotten a few. The cards weren't the best but they did their job.

This bribing thing is working so well that I'm even finishing up Lesson Learned - Lesson 3 within the next few days. This works for me, it might not work for everyone. Some people work to prove others wrong, that does nothing but get me down. I love praise and little silly things like this. It gets me motivated.

What gets you motivated and moving on any project? Treats are good but not good enough to get me to do housework yet. haha

Fan Fiction

As of late, with all the hospital trips, I have gotten out of the habit of writing daily. So as a warm up from now on I'm going to start working on some fanfiction. Fanfiction is taking a premade world, and characters, and making your own stories around them. I'm personally not very good at that in general. I had this crazy dream when I started writing, to write for Magic The Gathering, the trading card game. They used to have novels. Sadly I have come to find out that they no longer publish the novels. It broke my heart. So sense I will never make money that way, I might as well make something from that passion.

I'm taking my set of trading cards (too many to count!) and I am picking ones that inspire me and writing short 1,000 word shorts off of them. My work will be inspired by the card, but sticking as close as I can to the world and characters. The stories however, will be greatly inspired by the world itself and events that are in the lore. I am just writing the text how I would like to read it. Adventures that go with spells and "flavor text" from the makers and creators of the game.

I hope this will help retrain me into writing every day again so I can get some more work out for you guys.
